Senior Assessment and Quality Manager

Darren has worked in primary, secondary, post-compulsory and vocational education for nearly 20 years. He started his career as a secondary science teacher before moving to the Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA) to work on helping awarding bodies to develop blended academic and vocational qualifications. He then moved to the Standards and Testing Agency (STA) where he was responsible for developing assessments for the national primary science sample in England. 

 

He currently works at the Institute for Apprenticeships as a senior assessment and quality manager, where he oversees the Institute’s appraisals of end-point assessment plans and provides assessment advice to trailblazer groups.
